Not as thick and dense as the medical sheepskin seat pad I already own. The wool should be straight up and not brushable to one side or the other. It will be less able to distribute weight evenly this way. Honestly, I would have returned it if not for the surprising cost of returns to Wayfair. **Added info - the sheepskin is already flattened down (sideways which should not happen) after only a few uses. Definitely not the medical sheepskin quality that it should be. Very unhappy that I spent $ on this.
