Very basic and the wood is cheap looking. It almost looks like a wood sticker.

I have had this bed for just over a year and used it only 2/week at my commuter apartment. I gave it to my daughter in June. In September, she sat down on the bed (she's 110lbs) and the side bed rail broke, splintering into pieces. It is not repairable. Considering the bed is only a 1+ old and it has been used very little, I'm shocked at the low quality. I would definitely not recommend every buying this bed.
