The holes on the base do NOT align. Either send it back, or drill out the holes. I chose to improvise and drill out 2 holes. Finally after carefully drilling, I could only get one hole to drill out enough to fit. I stopped drilling the other hole in fear it would get too big and not work anyway. So I have the base attached by 3 bolts. Only time will tell how long this will last before loosening up too much, and not be able to fix it without improvising again. I chose not to send it back because for my situation it would be a bigger hassle.

It looks like it has always been in my hallway. I love it.
