Beautiful, Substantial Table — Just Pay for the Assembly! I absolutely love this table now that it is assembled. The quality is exceptional, and the heavy solid-wood pedestal gives it a substantial, high-end feel. Although the tabletop is MDF, the black finish and visible grain give it the look of cerused oak, so it reads much more like solid wood in person. For everyday use, I keep it at the 38-inch setting, which is perfect for my dining space and comfortably accommodates four place settings. I’m looking forward to extending it to the full 55 inches for holiday dinners. My only criticism is the assembly. This is definitely a two-person job, and the instructions provided were not very helpful. It took us close to four hours, and we ultimately had to find a YouTube video to figure it out. I highly recommend paying for professional assembly. Once together, though, it is sturdy, beautiful, and absolutely worth it. I’m very happy with the purchase.
