The construction is sturdy. However, for the MOST part, the fitment is ok. But it lacks in some places. 1. The center drawer is too tight as it moves in the roller track. I had to tap outward pretty hard on the vertical pieces the drawer slides are mounted on to create enough space to initially allow the drawer to be inserted into the slides, and then a little more hard tapping to allow the drawer to slide somewhat freely. Before I even started tapping, I did ensure the hardware was inserted fully at all mounting points. The hard tapping did ultimately slightly crack the partial board, but not enough to cause concern or structural problems. 2. The top side drawer did not fit at all in it's place. The holes for the dowels that mount the horizontal brace below the drawer are drilled too high and thus don't allow enough room for the drawer. And that's even after adjusting the drawer exactly in the center of it's vertical adjustment. Again, I had to take the drawer out and bang on the brace to force it down enough to allow the drawer to fit. This time, the partial board broke a lot more, but it's not seen and is not a structural member. The drawer still slightly hits it in the end. The picture is a little deceptive because the drawer raises slightly when pulled out and rubs the top. Right now it's adjusted as good as it's going to get. And the cabinet door is adjusted as high as it will go, and there's still that big gap. 3. The edge around the top is very sharp. I have to slide my mouse pad to hang over slightly so it doesn't destroy my forearm as it rests on the desk. And, typing is somewhat painful for my arms. I expected more for that much money.

Beautiful, sturdy desk. Took my husband a while to put together, but he did it by himself and the end result is well worth it!
