This was a frustrating build. There were many pieces that were mislabeled or not labeled at all. The directions were not clear in areas. The screws are not holding the “chimney” in place. We had to drill different holes. The shelf with the hinge is currently only secured by one hinge as the screws would not stay in the other hinge due to the pre-drilled holes being just slightly too big. I will purchase some screws tomorrow to secure. Overall, it looks like it was advertised.

Shipping was fast and customer service rectified the missing assembly guide. The bed itself is highly disappointing. I took a chance on something that didn’t have any reviews because the shop overall had great reviews. I’ve built my fair share of complicated furniture over the years, and this one takes the cake. Instructions were awful, materials are shoddy, and I’m worried about its stability. Wood split in multiple places, the paint job is sparse, and we had to drill holes that weren’t in the right places. The backing pieces all have random holes in them. Some could be hidden in the grooves, but not all. The drawers don’t align without force and barely open wide enough to put things in them. The cover for the top shelf doesn’t sit flush either. My kid thinks it’s cool because she doesn’t know any better. Personally, I’m looking forward to the day she learns to sleep in a regular bed so we can take a sledge hammer to this and throw it on the burn pile.

This was not easy to put together at all, even with two people. There were 3 instances where the directions were not correct and took quite some time to resolve after a bit of problem solving, not all pieces were labeled either. The key in assembling this bed is a lot of patients and willpower to complete this before saying to heck w it. After getting to the end my daughter loved her new big girl bed. Please note the drawers do not open but half way and because of that we keep them closed. Also, please know this is a bed that after assembly, it needs to be replaced in its designated area and should not be maneuvered after.
