I researched a lot before I decided to purchase. I ordered grey and the actual color is quite a bit darker (and browner) than depicted, but I am adapting to it, The chair reclines like a regular recliner- a mid way and then lay flat. The seat is firm and arms are a little lower than I would have liked but I like the look of it and I think the fabric will wear well. This replaced a microfiber chair that we loved, but it looked dirty and the springs in the seat gave up after 4 years.
