The storage cabinet was delivered without specific notice while I was away from home. When I returned, I found a large cardboard box standing in the snow next to the door to the house. The piece of furniture was in a single box that weighed nearly 100 pounds. Being a senior citizen, it was impossible for me to bring such a box into the house.. I had to find and pay two big guys to get the piece of furniture into my basement.
For the assembly, I also used a handyman to help me with the task. During assembly, I saw that one side of the cabinet was badly damaged. I was hoping the door would hide the scratch, but it didn't. The scratch is located at the front and deteriorates the appearance of the furniture (see photos).
Once the assembly was complete, I saw that there was another major problem with the two front doors. The nails used at the factory to secure the wood strips to the doors had pierced the door skin. So we can see the end of the nails coming out at the front (see photos).
I paid $643 for this piece of furniture and I consider that at this price, such defects are unacceptable. For now, I'm waiting to hear what Wayfair will suggest as solutions. To replace the defective parts, it would be necessary to disassemble and reassemble the furniture with all the costs that this represents. A great waste of time and money, and a lot of trouble. Maybe Wayfair should clean up its suppliers.
