The Murphy bed came out beautifully! The materials are high quality, heavy and sturdy. The hydraulic lift mechanism was a great touch to deal with the load so it’s very smooth and easy to take out and put away. Securing to the wall is a MUST as well to avoid accidental injury. It does take a long time to build, but can be done 80 or so with 1 person over 5-6 hours. Certain steps need at least 2 people. We’re very excited about the space this saves in our guest room!

This does make a functional murphy bed, and it is half the price (or less) of a higher quality bed. However, it has a number of shortcomings buyers should know about ahead of time. First, the shelf that attaches to the front IS NOT A DESK. It is too high off the ground and too narrow to be called a desk. A person who is 5'10" and sits on a standard chair will find the "desk" too high to work at for very long. And while a small laptop will fit on it, a monitor with a keyboard in front will not fit. Second, the thing is not super sturdy. I am optimistic this will work for us a guest bed for some time, but I would not trust this to last a long time with daily use. Third, zoom in on the advertised images before purchase. This was designed to have a lot of very exposed steel hardware. It does not come with stickers or anything to cover up the screws. I purchased white stickers afterward to try to hide the hardware, but they don't match perfectly. And finally, be warned the hardware is made from the cheapest possible metal -- if it even is metal. It is extremely easy to strip the hardware while screwing in. Be gentle as you go.

I have been doing extensive remodeling. I received the boxes in a timely manner I haven’t opened the boxes yet. I will review it when I see it.

Fabulous. Well packaged. Nice finish to wood. Will shop again when needed. Delivery communicated well.

Requires multiple people to assemble. Parts were mislabeled. Instructions were confusing and a bit difficult to interpret. Some of the pieces weren’t very qualitative and the wood looked like it was tearing from the coating. The bottom bed piece appeared to be warping. However, the final product looks great once assembled. BE WARNED, all nutsboltsscrews come in EXACT numbers. Be careful not lose any.
