I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience with Wayfair and feel compelled to share it.
I purchased two dining chairs on December 9th. They shipped on December 13th and were delivered on December 17th. On the day of delivery, I assembled one chair without any issues. However, when I attempted to assemble the second chair, I discovered that the seat portion had a dent in the wooden frame, making it impossible to install.
I contacted Wayfair immediately on December 17th to report the issue. During that call, I clearly explained that I needed the replacement seat no later than December 24th, otherwise I would have to return the entire order for a refund. I was explicitly told that Wayfair would ensure the replacement part would be received by December 24th.
After that conversation, I received no updates whatsoever. On December 21st, I called Wayfair again to follow up. At that point, the representative told me there had been a “miscommunication” and claimed that Wayfair had only said the part would ship by December 24th - not arrive by then. I was then informed that the replacement part is now scheduled to arrive on December 27th, which is completely unacceptable and too late for my needs.
If I had known I would receive a defective product and then be expected to wait weeks for Wayfair to correct their own mistake, I would have purchased chairs elsewhere from a retailer that delivers non-defective items on time.
To make matters worse, on December 22nd, I received an email stating that the replacement part had shipped, along with a FedEx tracking number. When I checked the tracking information on the FedEx website, it only shows that a label was created, meaning the package has not actually shipped yet.
This entire experience has been frustrating and misleading. I no longer want a replacement part. I want a full refund, as Wayfair has failed to deliver a usable product and failed to follow through on their own promises.
I would not recommend Wayfair based on this experience.
