I really like the size of this island—it fits perfectly in my kitchen and is exactly what I needed to add workspace and storage. It was inexpensive, so I was not expecting high-end materials, but the countertop has a very shiny, plastic-like coating and looks more synthetic than the “natural” finish shown online. The biggest disappointment is the drawers. The description of the drawers as “deep” is misleading, since they are only 13 inches deep and leave about 9 inches of unused space behind them. The drawer slides also catch and do not open smoothly, despite the advertised “smooth-glide” hardware. Properly fitting, smoothly operating drawers would have made this a five-star product. I initially hoped I had received the wrong drawer set, but the short brackets make this appear to be a design flaw.
