Do not purchase. Despite the high price point, this murphy bed is extremely low quality and will break after use. I have had 2 separate incidents of the front panel completely snapping in half. The first time the manufacturer sent a replacement, the second time they would not. Again, do not waste your money.

If I could give this zero stars, I would. The Westfield Low Profile Wood Murphy Bed Chest has been, without question, the most disappointing purchase we've made for our home. For the price, I expected a durable, well-constructed piece of furniture. Instead, the materials are unbelievably cheap. The problems started during assembly. Several pieces cracked, splintered, or chipped with normal handling. The wood feels like it's less sturdy than compressed sawdust. It simply doesn't have the strength or durability you'd expect from a product in this price range. The final straw? We used the Murphy bed one time for overnight guests, and the front panel of the cabinet is already broken. After a single use, there is absolutely no excuse for that. Yes, the bed sits very low to the ground—my child even commented that it felt like sleeping on the floor—but that isn't my complaint. The real issue is the extremely poor quality of the materials and construction. I cannot recommend this product. Save yourself the frustration and spend your money on a Murphy bed made with better-quality materials.

Perfect addition to a spare room where you only need the bed occasionally. Quality is good, best to have two people assemble. Bed is low to the ground so best for younger guests.

The shipping was great, however, the Murphy bed itself had defects. One of the wooden planks was the wrong size, slight hole on inside of front panel, a few cracks throughout. Pin for hinge was damaged. The quality of this product is questionable. Slightly disappointing.

The cabinet Murphy bed itself is stunning, but the assembly is so horrid it knocks the rating down to a 2. Some pieces were over-coated to the point they wouldn’t fit where needed, and I had to sand them down. The “screwdriver-only” needed meant I had to hand-screw at LEAST 55 untapped wooden screws (had leant out my drill, since it wasn’t needed for the assembly.) As someone who enjoys puzzles and genuinely doesn’t mind putting together furniture, this one took me eight hours. Don’t recommend, but if you do purchase, have both a partner and a drill handy.
