Let me start by saying that assembly is not for the faint of heart! There are SO many pieces. If youre tackling this alone, plan for a solid 3–4 hours, with 3 hours being optimistic if you encounter absolutely no hiccups. Unfortunately, I wasnt so lucky. A word of advice Pay VERY close attention to the drawer tracks early in the assembly process. Also, when assembling the top of the dresser with the curved edges, be especially mindful of which pieces the instructions call for. Several look similar, and mistakes arent necessarily obvious until much later. And in the later steps of the process, when assembling the drawers, the instruction manual has the pieces mislabeled but it was pretty easy to figure out since the sides need to be the same length. As for the dresser itself. The walnut brown finish is a beautiful, rich color, and I love the overall design. The six drawers provide plenty of storage, and the gold handles really elevate the appearance. Aesthetically, its a very attractive piece of furniture. Unfortunately, the structural quality doesnt live up to its appearance. The dresser is very flimsy. A light push causes noticeable side-to-side swaying. There is an included wall-mounting kit, which should help secure it, but I still expected a sturdier piece of furniture. I definitely wouldnt recommend this for a childs bedroom, particularly for kids who tend to be rough on furniture. The drawers are another frustration. They catch and dont glide nearly as smoothly as Id expect. In my case, the top drawer is noticeably worse than the others. Interestingly, I also purchased the matching horizontal dresser from the same brand and collection. Despite having the same design and finish, that dresser feels significantly sturdier and better constructed. It still has one drawer that sticks, but in terms of overall stability and durability, the horizontal version is far superior. Overall, it’s a beautiful dresser with a rich finish and attractive details, but the quality is disappointing. Between the tedious assembly, flimsy structure, and drawers that dont operate smoothly, I think you can absolutely find better quality for the price. I wanted to love this piece as much as I love its appearance, but unfortunately, looks are where its strengths end.
