recently we bought 2 of these and had to return both because getting out of the chair from the laying position became very difficult, the foot rests mechanism on both chairs broke soon after purchase and the chairs lurch forward when the footrests were pressed to get the chairs back to the sitting position. However, Wayfair return service seems to be better than expected, so far

This chair is a beautiful chair but when you try to put the leg part down from a reclining position it won’t lock. It takes many many tries and assistance from others to push it closed so it will lock in just a sitting position. Does anyone else have this problem and what did you do to fix it?

This is super comfortable and exactly what I wanted. However, because it’s manual the way to make the leg part go down you push with your feet and when I did, the entire recliner fell over on me. This happened twice and we determined that it was broken. This is a safety factor. I’ve had two recent spinal surgeries and being on the floor was not a good idea. I contacted Wayfair they were super with the return, but the manufacturer sent a repair man to look at it. He looked at it and said the mechanism was broken. About two weeks later, I got a notification from the manufacturer that they were just going to replace the recliner. After two more weeks, the new recliner came. While it was easier to put the foot rest down it still won’t close by itself. If you don’t have the back sitting up and completely, the entire recliner will fall so while there was a problem with the foot rest, I believe this piece of furniture has a manufacturers problem. I kept it and still use it some better at times I’m a little afraid of it.
