I had one just like this and it wore down after many years. I was wanting to be over-the-moon happy about this, but it is WAYYY darker than the pictures show, and WAYYY darker than my former, chocolate brown, version. This one is almost black. MUCH darker than the pictures show. Still, it will hold all of my linens, and that is the plus I appreciated with the former one. Just be mindful of color if you're expecting brown. Black, for me, is a bit of a clash with everything else in this space. This would be a 5-star review if not for that.

This is a great storage bench for the end of a bed. I use it to hold my bedspreads and heavy quilts. I had the exact same one for about 18 years and after moving around the country several times, it had gotten damaged. I was happy to find a duplicate on Wayfair at a very good price. I would definitely recommend this item.

It smells totally musty!!! : ( Truly disappointed.
