The product seems simple enough to assemble, only 4 parts to put together. So simple, that the instructions come in the form of drawn images with no written description. However, I found it very difficult to assemble this product. The seat stayed in the 'sit' position and the mechanism used to lift the seat up and down was loose and did not seem to 'activate' the chair. I did manage to get the seat into the 'standing' position but was not able to enable the bar to go back down to the seated position. The seat was never on securely and could be removed easily. Not safe. Wayfair offered me a replacement and I had similar issues with the second stool. I appreciate Wayfair's customer service and the refund they issued. I do not recommend this product at all.
