It was easy to put together by myself. Although, I wish the pictures were more descriptive on what sides the screws should be on. My only complaint is that the actual headboard (the front with the buttons) was not stapled properly. It is coming apart. By the time I realized this, I was tired of putting the bed together, I didn't even think about returning it. I'll staple it myself, or find some glue to keep it together.
