This media console was an interesting piece. I loved that it was extra long, but it was quite low to the ground. A TV would look best on top of it to balance out the piece on the wall. It has two nice drawers and two side cabinets that close flush on the console. It looks like one entire piece. Putting it together, I built the two side boxes and attached it to the center. So it was like a three piece designed and attached to look like one. It took about two hours to put together, but I had help and it went faster than it would on my own. Nothing was difficult, but it took time. The instruction book was not very helpful, and there were a lot of pieces; which is one of the reasons I gave it four stars instead of five. It was almost more confusing than helpful. I think it is all manufactured wood, which is another reason for the deduction in stars. However, up close, it is impossible to tell. The black finish is like a smooth lacquer making it look modern and sleek. Very pretty. I really liked the added feature of an array of colored lights with a handheld clicker, as you can plainly see in my pictures below. I am seeing this more and more in furniture pieces and I like it. It adds ambiance for the adults and night lights for the young. The only thing I did not like about it was that it ran on batteries instead of an electric cord. If they could make that one difference alone, I would give it five stars. Nonetheless, I think it looks good in the bonus room, it was easy to match with another black coffee table, and everyone loves the colored lights. Thanks Wayfair!
