The soft close only works on one side, and I followed the instructions to set up it. Therefore the drawer doesn't want to shut smoothly. The size is bigger than I expected but I love that aspect. The craftsmanship an quality of the night stand is well built. Just having the drawer not working properly takes a hit on the overall happiness with the product. My daughter is now 7, she has this entire set. The bed rail broke so I ordered a new one and figured I would get her this night stand to complete her room. So I am slightly disappointed it isn't going to function properly for her, especially for the price.
