Item is not as pictured. The images show the top lid mounted on hinges, making it very easy and practical to openclose. However, the item does not come with hinges at all, nor does the top lid even have a place for hinges to be attached. Instead, to openclose you have to fully remove the lid and put it in the floor or to the side. It’s not practical at all. I’m disappointed. I tried to get support from the manufacturer but they did not resolve the issue. They offered to send hinges but that didn’t make any sense because the lid has no pre-drilled holes or anywhere to screw on hinges. Wayfair has not resolved the issue either. They offered a slight discount but that does not get to the root of the issue. I wanted to love this item but I am considering returning it because of the issue with the top lid. I don’t understand how sellers can get away with falsely advertising or misrepresenting their products. Even if it’s something small, you’re misleading the customer.

I initially bought this for my bedroom, but decided to put it on my closet. Not sure if it will stay here, but it is very functional and maybe with a different rug I may leave it in the closet. I will add that I put it together all by myself. Very happy with my purchase

Great chest using as a holder for baby clothes.

Easy to put together and very elegant as well very functional in our space. A great bench that adds seating but also storage space to hide the children’s mess!

Perfect for my needs. I did initially assume it had a hinged top but the lid just sits in the base. Doesn’t really matter because I have it positioned up against a wall and you can still open it as if it did have a hinged lid.
