This unit was a disaster. I have ordered and assembled a lot of large multi-piece furniture from Wayfair, but this bookcase was my worst experience yet. The Good once assembled the bookcase looks very nice. The Bad there was a major structural component missing and there were 2 large thumbnail sized chips in the finished white laminate. For the missing 36” cross-member of the lower cabinet frame, I had to manufacture my own with some scrap lumber. The only reason I could get away with this is because I had some scrap and a small shop in my garage. Instead of using the provided peg cam hardware, I had to pre-drill and screw in the substitute part. Anyone else would have had to return the unit. By the way - returning this would have been a nightmare. It’s large and came in 2 separate 100 lb boxes and contained dozens of pieces. Before even starting to assemble it you have unpacked everything and carefully account for every piece. Repackaging it would have been impossible at this point, so I decided to fix it myself instead of attempting to return it. I also had to buy white enamel paint to cover the 2 large visible chips. The “peg cam” locking system for this bookcase was touchy and did not seem solid enough for my liking. The finished product looks great, but seemed a little on the loosewobbly side for being so large. It should be okay as long as you never have to move it too much in the future as I doubt it could take the stress without popping locking cam. I give 1 out of 5. My lowest ever as I never experienced less than 4 from Wayfair.
