I was looking for a desk that I could use as a vanity and also to do my daily Bible reading. I needed something tall because I have high ceilings. Customer service was extremely helpful when I received a scratched up part and they sent me a replacement in a timely manner. The desk is sturdy and beautiful! I have plans to put a mirror in the open back of it. Can’t wait to decorate the open shelves! Also, there is so much storage for my books and makeup items!! Very pleased.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was genuinely surprised by the thickness and quality of this Traditional Writing Desk Hutch. It was intimidating because it arrived in four boxes and it is a very large hutch. However, the instructions included have clear steps with photos with enough clarity that even most beginners could figure it out. First, I would advise assembling this in the same room that you intend to keep it since it will not fit through most doorways to move without taking it apart, and it is extremely heavy. Most of this could be assembled with one person but there are parts where two people are needed, and one step where it's best for four people to help. When you place the top portion on top of the writing desk, we attempted it with two people which was a mistake. We ended up having to sit the piece down after flipping it due to the heaviness and how we had to maneuver it, but the issue was that this side had screws already inserted so having to sit it down after flipping it caused a couple screws to rip out of the desk from the weight, unable to be reinserted since this is MDF material and the holes needed to line up. Luckily there were so many screws on this side that we felt we could still safely secure it, but just a word of caution that no matter how strong you are, at the very least get a third person to help you, preferably four since you have to pick it up, turn it over, and then lift it back up on top of the desk while fitting all the screws into the holes. It is very heavy! Fortunately, everything fit perfectly into every hole, there were no missing pieces, and we did not have to make any manual adjustments to make pieces fit together at any step in the installation process. With the crown molding, the end result measures 62.5 inches wide, 85 inches tall, and 21 inches deep. The cabinets and drawers are soft close which is an amazing feature when you have kids, and the drawer rails are metal. The drawers installed completely even. Just another word of caution, after installing the hinges you will need to use the hinge screw to adjust the cabinet spacing to prevent the cabinet from catching which can cause paint to come off the cabinet. We ended up with a small knick where the paint came off in one tiny spot at the top of the cabinet because we didn't adjust spacing before opening/closing it. I also love that it has a light. We leave this on at night as a night light and it really makes the hutch stand out even more. The end result was absolutely beautiful and well worth the hours we put into assembly. It probably took 8 to 10 hours all together spread out over many days with the majority of work being completed by two people. Although this is made from MDF material, it is not cheap at all. It looks and feels like a quality made, elegant piece in our living room. The crown molding takes it to another level. Sitting at the desk, you have an abundance of space to work. You can easily fit a PC and still have plenty of room for traditional writing or homework. You have 20 inches of vertical space between the desk and the upper hutch for a PC monitor. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a nice desk with plenty of storage. This piece of furniture will last a long time and I really appreciate the effort the manufacturer put into making sure the installation process was a breeze. That makes a huge difference when you have something that is already labor intensive to put together.
