Great bed! Time consuming to put together. It took us two days to put together but worth it in the end.

The final product fits great in our guest room/office! It took 3 days to build with 2 people (we definitely had to call in a 3rd for when we had to connect the 2 main pieces together). This could have taken a shorter time to build if the instruction booklet was a lot more explicit and if the parts were better labeled. Also, we had to open all 4 boxes to find the parts we needed for each step of the process - this was a major obstacle because of space constraints (the whole reason why we needed a Murphy Bed was because the room was small). The product description is not explicit on the mattress thickness - in the installation manual it says 8" max, but I got a 9.5" thick mattress and it still works. It was worth it because we got it on sale, but I wish there were pre-installation instructions so we could have been better prepared (i.e. I wish we knew to get better/longer hex keys, screwdrivers or drill bits that can fit into tight corners, the correct hardware for bracketing this to the wall, clamps and levels, etc.).

We have a very small bedroom and this Murphy Bed will suit our needs. I strongly urge you to follow the instructions and it will look exactly like the photo.

I would give it zero stars if I could I have never written a review like this before, but I feel a moral obligation to warn anyone considering this desk murphy bed. This piece of furniture is an absolute death trap. While guests were sleeping in the bed, the entire locking/hinge mechanism catastrophically failed and snapped. The bed collapsed violently while people were inside it. It didn’t just slip; it completely sheared away from its anchor points due to cheap, shoddy hardware that clearly cannot handle basic, normal weight distribution. They are incredibly lucky they weren’t crushed, concussed, or seriously suffocated. It could have caused severe, life-altering injuries or worse. Wayfair should completely pull this item from their site before they end up with a massive lawsuit or someone gets killed. The wood is cheap particle board disguised as solid construction, and the metal mechanical parts are flimsy trash. Do not risk your life, your family’s safety, or your guests' safety just to save some space in your room. Avoid this product at all costs. You have been warned. It also takes days to put together, with pretty vague instructions. I've had it for 6 months and people have only slept in it like 5 total nights before this broke
