Let’s start with the assembly directions and a disclaimer: we have assembled a LOT of flatpack furniture through the years. This bed’s printed directions are illegible tiny pictographs that draw little thick circles around key locations so you can’t tell where or which way a part should go. Luckily, there are video clips to QR scan for each step, showing a team of guys with a video camera set up about 8’ from their actual build, and a lot of times they install parts with their backs to the camera so you can’t see what their hands are doing, or where. Overall, assembly was tedious, frustrating, and infuriating, and it took forever. Luckily we had some other flatpack assembly projects with great helpful directions to take our minds off the frustration of this one. Once finally built, the bed is solid except for two key areas. The slats beneath the mattress are strong enough, but the panels between them are basically cardboard. First thing you need to add is enough 1/4” plywood to cover the slats before anyone tries pressing a knee or elbow into the mattress. Second problem is the rotating pins that engage with the bed being lowered and raised. Each rotation loosens the bolt holding the pin in place, so Loctite is required if you don’t want to give your guests a wrench to re-tighten these important bolts. The directions don’t mention either plywood or Loctite, and they should - AFTER first making the steps clearly legible and the videos completely (not just partly) useful.

Over all we are very happy the shelf is a little odd but we may just remove it.

Finally, a piece of furniture with wood. Hardest part of putting it together was getting the shocks attached and not letting the unit tip over.
