Solid wood with practically no assembly (just screw on the legs)! It's exactly as shown in the photos and the perfect little side table for a Japanese futon bed. Definitely small and short (which is what I was looking for) - so be sure to confirm specs work for you, but I LOVE this piece!

Love everything about this nightstand! It is solid wood and very sturdy but not super heavy due to its size. It is low profile, yet has enough height for reaching items easily from the bed. The lip border at the top is a plus with helping things not to roll off or be knocked off during the night. The style is perfect with all rounded edges, and the front side edges have a cool slant to them so the bottom shelf protrudes just past the top shelf. Great design!
