I would give this a negative rating if I could. I was very hesitant about purchasing an item with zero reviews, especially one so relatively cheap, but my daughter really liked this design versus the other options, so I took a chance. Won't be doing that again. There were a multitude of problems with this.
1. Instructions and labeling are atrocious. Some pieces were incorrectly labeled. Additionally, several pieces were given the same number, so it seems they are interchangeable, but they are not. This wouldn't be a problem if they had properly finished both the tops and bottoms of these pieces, but only one side is properly finished, so you have to really think about which side you're placing it on or will have to redo it (unless you like the raw furniture look), which is what we ended up having to do. The instructions don't mention this at all. They also have some "steps" that actually include multiple steps that are not outlined.
2. Cheap materials and dirty. There is no way any of this is real wood. Also, many pieces came with marks, cracks, and other imperfections. There were some wood blocks intended to be attached to the bedframe to add separation for the drawers that were downright filthy--just caked in nastiness. We did not end up using them because we did not build the drawers. They are going in the trash, where they belong.
3. Drawers have impossible construction. They want you to attach long pressed wood strips to the drawers to provide support. The holes for this are not predrilled, it is unclear which screws to use because those instructions are NOT provided, and the short screws don't penetrate, the longer ones are too long, and some parts of that strip are impenetrable even with our impact driver. Furthermore, with nothing lining up properly and not being able to secure those pieces, which are necessary, to build drawers, we are just throwing the drawers in the trash. My daughter had plastic bins under her bed, and just put those back.
4. Slats to support mattress are too short. You are supposed to secure the slats to the bed with screws, but the slats are too short, so you can really only screw in one side and then the other side of the slat usually has the screw only partially secured. Not to mention, the wood of the slats were also rather gross--not filthy like those blocks, but there were weird random stains. My daughter said that one looked like blood. It was probably stain from some other furniture, but it shows a lack of care.
Definitely would not buy again. Would not recommend. Thankfully, we got the bed built and didn't need the drawers. I don't have high hopes this bed will last long. But I have learned my lesson and won't buy furniture again without reviews. Hopefully, this review saves some else the nightmare we endured.
