This item is rated R, for strong language. This is only the second time Ive said this in almost 10 years of shopping with Wayfair. It took two people, sometimes shimming sections with pillows, extra tools and a lot of swearing. The problem is in the design, which I will explain further along.  To begin, assembly of the first and second rings, wood base, and interior storage with side supports is very easy. But its important to line up all the center screws top and bottom. The screw tops fit into the holes in the top and bottom of the supports. (see photo).Then, the instructions tell you to turn the whole table upside-down onto ring 3 and line up the screw holes in the supports. I couldnt see how that could be easier than putting the ring on the supports and screwing them in, which was not difficult at all. Line up the screws correctly and the head of the screws slip in place. (see pic). Now, this is where the design comes into questíon. Youre instructed to attach the lift mechanism to the top table piece, then attach its arms to the inside of the “box” storage space. This requires two people. We considered this method and attached it inside the box first as this would make it easier to move the lift mechanisms. The real problem occurs, in either method, because the lift mechanism blocks your access to the screw holes. A socket wrench was used to detach the lift mechanism and an electric screwdriver was used, extended, to reach the screws, then the lift mechanism was put back in place. This is suggested by a small image on page 10 of the instructions and it helped. When everything is together its a good coffee tale and looks great. I do a lot of paperwork at the sofa and having the desk option is handy. I also added stick on felt pads on the steel supports so the top would be cushioned when dropping it back down in place. I recommend this coffee table, but have assistance and the tools youll need. Minus two stars for difficult assembly and lack of text when its most needed.

This table is great. It’s well made. It took a little over an hour to put together. But the instructions were clear and the hardware is of qreat quality! It lifts up easily and is smaller in size. It also has lots of storage just in the design.

I love this coffee table!! its very well constructed and not too difficult to assemble as long as you follow the instructions closely. I particularly love the storage under the lift top. My only wish is that it came with cushion pads for the top of the square frame so the lid doesnt slam when close it. But that is easily fixed with some felt furniture stickers. overall really nice table

Very nice small space coffee table! Our family room is a bit small but this coffee table is the perfect size for it. It was relatively easy to assemble it does take 2 people to attach the top. I love that it has storage and small shelves on the outside. The quality isn’t bad. I think it will last a few years. Shipping was fast and the delivery process was seamless.

This table is suited for our needs. I only gave it four stars because of a few practical reasons… firstly, I had to use pliers to straighten a couple of braces..one was bent down and one was bent upward.. secondly, when you screw in the bits that hold the box, it chipped up the veneer-which happily was covered by the edge of the box.. thirdly.. and MOST IMPORTANTLY, the instructions tell you to attach the box to the base, and attach the hinges to the top, then attach the top to the box on the base….this is utterly impractical and will make you crazed trying to line up the tiny screw to the tiny holes. Attach the hinged bit to the top, turn it upside down, then attach the box to it, then attach all of that to the base. Also, it tells you to wait to tighten all the screw til the end.. you can’t actually do that, so tighten as you finish each step. Other than that, it’s cute and works in my room.
