I gave this two stars because it was easy to assemble, and made of acceptable materials for the price point. However, I returned it and accepted the $14 shipping cost as my stupid tax, for failing to realize it wouldn't work for me. I've tried to imagine using this under a mattress, but unless it's a single bed that allows you to get out on the other side, I can't imagine it being anything but annoying. I work from my recliner in the evening. My old Perfect Chair had a laptop desk designed to attach to the arm. When I want to stop for a while, I swing my current laptop desk out of the way and get up. It also allows me to move it 180 degrees from my work position, so it’s completely clear of the chair. My new recliner doesn’t have this option, thus my search for a suitable replacement. The Sidekiix table doesn't allow me to swing it out of the way, with or without a laptop on it, because only the legs of the recliner touch the floor, and the base sits between the legs, so there's nothing to hold the base down. When you swing the arm away, the table tips over and everything on it falls off. I suspect, but didn't test, that a gap of three inches (maybe less if the table is tilted in the typing position) will likely result in things falling off. I considered designing something to counteract that issue, but with a temporary counterweight in place, and the desk at its maximum height, moving it in place to work puts it too close to type comfortably, and because the table itself doesn't pivot, pushing it farther away puts the laptop at an angle that makes typing impossible. I came up with several designs to allow the Sidekiix desk to act as a genuine workstation, but as designed, I can’t use it.

Easy to put together and it is exactly what it is. It’s metal and sturdy!!

Does what I wanted it to do and it provides a second workspace in our small RV.
