The base is very sturdy, although rather disappointed with the seat material. It definitely feels like pleather,so understand that before making a decision to purchase. Also the seat is not as wide as depicted in the photos or comfortablecushioned as the Pera ana seat. The width is on a regular to larger size but would not accommodate larger people.
