Bibliothèque en métal Stevenson H 72 "H

Great looking bookcase. The wood shelves were heavy and felt substantial. As another reviewer mentioned, this is not a true black and has a distressed finish which goes well with my other dark stained furniture. I like that the back of the shelves have a lip so that books don’t slide out the back. Putting it together wasn’t too bad, I was able to it by myself without help. The holes in the shelves lined up perfectly with the metal rack. Even comes with an anti-tip restraint. Happy with this purchase.

I chose this bookcase because the description said it was black. It is definitely NOT BLACK. The metal is very dark brown. The wood is dark brown with extensive light brown variations through it. The edges of the shelves are light beige. I expected a solid black to go with my desk. The "farmhouse" finish does not go with the contemporary design. I was not strong enough to open the box and inspect it before the assembler arrived, so by then I decided it was not worth the time and expense to return it. I also had to anchor it to the wall. This is an expensive item compared to most of the bookcases at Wayfair, but the style and color black were what I was looking for. It is not worth the price, especially if you're looking for black.
