I'm so excited. The stool just arrived and it is all and more than what I needed and wanted. I will post pix later, but I just had to share my enthusiasm at this very moment of delivery. I work from a home office, and use a standing desk with a height of 42". I am 5'7", and most of the time I stand, but about 35% of the time I want to sit. This means I need a stool whose seat will keep me at the appropriate ergonomic height to use a keyboard without hunching over or developing carpal tunnel. The stool which came with my desk (purchased at Staples) is wobbly and has wheels, so climbing onto it requires a bit of gymnastics and a willingness to roll around unintentionally. It also has a bulky footprint, with a 5-pronged base which is too large to tuck under the desk. This means that when I am working standing up, I have to find a place to put the stool, and honestly there is just nowhere else for it to go but in my own way. I finally came to the realization that what I needed was a stool with a swivel top and a stable, non-rolling base which would tuck completely under the desk. The stool had to be heavy-duty and stylish, with an easy option for removing the top and reupholstering it with a decorative fabric. This is what prompted me to purchase the Tobias Swivel Bar Stool. The stool is extremely heavy duty, commercial grade. The photo doesn't accurately show how much larger the seat is relative to the base. It's firm but comfortable. I love the geometry of the legs, and the placement of the foot rest is ideal. When I put my foot on it to hop onto the seat, the stool stays put. I can also tuck the stool completely under my desk without any effort, so that -- like now -- I can type without having a clunky stool in my way. I hope to post pix of my work space soon, but the bottom line is the stool exceeds my expectations and meets my needs aesthetically and functionally. Not to mention it arrived days before the predicted ship date. Woohoo!

Loved that fact that these came assembled. The seat on this stool is large. It is very comfortable and I like the fact that it swivels.

Far sturdier and more attractive than the picture. Roomy and comfy, too. I love these bar stools!!!
