After reading good reviews about this bookcase I decided to order it. They were right. It came perfectly packaged. I was actually very impressed that there wasn't even a small dent or damage. I always worry about large online items. I give it five stars for the way they managed to pack it and for the look. Otherwise the quality is probably two stars, but you get what you pay for. I think it works well serving its purpose - just standing there looking good & holding books. The finish is beautiful bright white laminate, and it has a nice modern look. I like it, and I would order it again, however, I do not think it is worth $379.99 but in today's furniture you don't have a choice because a high quality bookcase would cost you $2-3k. This is manufactured wood, whatever that means. It is lighter than mdf, each piece is feather light, but on the other hand easy to work with. Assembling it did not take me more than two hours. It goes faster if you use a drill or electric screwdriver on screws... Instructions were easy to follow and very clear. The only thing I had to look up on youtube to figure out how it works is the cam look fastener.
