This is a solid little bookcase that was easy to assemble (I think it was less than 30 minutes all by myself) and was priced well. I didn't realize that the black version was a high-gloss black — which is fine — though it would be nice if the veneer on the edges of the shelves & other pieces were high glass black as well, and not a black matte finish. That's a minor quibble, and I probably wouldn't have lowered the star rating down to three stars just because of that. My rating is due to the giant sticker at the TOP INSIDE of the left hand side panel warning buyers that his piece needs to be anchored to the wall to avoid toppling. Look, I get it — manufacturers get sued due to the personal negligence/cluelessness of some of their customers. But why put this giant sticker in a place that would be so conspicuous after assembly? It could have gone on one of the back panels or something... And it's not one of those easily-removable stickers, either: it only came off in like a hundred little tiny pieces — and then required GooGone to remove all the adhesive — and it took me nearly as long to remove the sticker as it did to assemble the bookcase. And I needed to use a razor blade which — despite being very careful/meticulous — of course, damaged the finish of the piece. I was able to touch up the damage enough with a black Sharpie so that it's not so noticeable — but I had intended to use the top shelf for display (and not books), but now have to put some larger books there to hide the damage. Yeah, first-world white people problems, I know. But disappointing (and unnecessary) nonetheless. Despite the price point, design, and quality, I'd probably not purchase from this particular manufacturer in the future.
