Super confortables

These are comfortable to sit on and sturdy enough for our homeschool room. I’ve got three kids ages 5-10 who all love them.

I bought this particular model of office chair because I was looking specifically for non-wheeled ones (because, when used on a hard/non-carpeted floor, wheeled chairs will roll *FAR* too easily), and unfortunately it doesn't seem to be very easy to find them. This model has what's called a "sled base", and more specifically -- because there's at least one different type of design that's also called by the same name -- this one has a single curved tube underneath its seat that serves both as the chair's base (the part that's in contact with the floor) and also as its "legs" (the vertical part that connects the base to the seat). You should be aware that a chair with that type of design effectively has only two legs, both of which are *at the front-end* of its seat... which, in turn, tends to cause that tube to flex when you sit down in the chair. (Though I suppose that some other chairs with the same type of base might be less springy, due to having a metal tube that's wider in diameter and/or has thicker walls.) Also, the back of this chair will flex when you lean back in it. Taken together, those two characteristics make this chair feel somewhat similar to a rocking chair. I didn't anticipate that it would be like this, but it's not necessarily "bad" for it to be that way... though I suppose I might end up using it as something other than an office chair, e.g. putting it at the dinner table rather than at a computer desk. Be aware, though, that this chair was **frustratingly difficult to assemble**, mainly because -- for some inherent structural/mechanical reason, I suspect -- after having bolted one of the chair's arms to the seat & the back, it then was necessary to apply *A LOT of force* to hold the other one of the arms & the seat close enough together to each other in order for the bolt-holes to line up well enough for me to bolt down that other arm. (By contrast, another chair that I bought recently -- one with the aforementioned other type of "sled base" -- was much easier for me to assemble than this one was.) One other thing about this chair is that the "feet" on its base are elongated pieces of plastic with curved undersides, so as to have no edges/ridges on them. Presumably this was done in order to prevent this chair from needing to have any stick-on soft felt pads applied to its feet when set on a (non-carpeted) floor surface of some kind that's vulnerable to being scratched/gouged/damaged -- such as one made of wood, plastic, vinyl, etc. -- in order to prevent them from damaging the floor; however, it seems like this rounded design of its feet might also *prevent* felt pads of that kind from sticking to the feet, so you might not be able to use them on this chair even if you wanted to. (Oh, and about the aforementioned other type of "sled base" that some other models of chairs have -- it's like this: two separate curved -- or "looped", rather -- tubes, each of which serves three purposes: it's one arm of the chair, and the left or right half of the chair's base, **AND** the left or right two of the chair's legs. With this design, the chair effectively has four legs in total... *UNLIKE* this chair's design, which has only two legs.) (Also note, another type of non-wheeled chair design that's probably less springy/flexible than this one is: for the chair to simply have four individual upright legs. I bought one other chair that has four separate legs, although that one's item-description calls it an armchair rather than an office chair.)
