Bibliothèque Juiliana 72 pouces (RTA)

Well, I can't give a complete review yet as I have asked to return this and get a new one. This will be the 3rd delivery. The first time, one side panel was totally broken in half and the assembly guy said he wouldn't be able to do it (obviously). The second time, the inside of the back panel came with some kind of grease or heavy dirt stains (not talking about the blackish that is part of the coloring; it had some kind of marks that looked like someone stepped on it and the dirt was different in texture but didn't wipe off). The side panels on the inside also have streaks. AND it's totally unstable! I'd say maybe it's my floor but I had a bookcase in that same spot before and it didn't wobble like this one is. So I reordered it but on top of all that, it is now emitting heavy fumes! I have two air purifiers going, a fan, etc and it is diminishing. I hope it will work out. It's really hard to find a bookcase if you have space limitations and lots of books and want a sturdy, 6 shelf book case. (It says 5 shelves but unlike every other company, they are not counting the bottom shelf). On the plus side, the back of the bookcase is definitely stronger and nicer than most cardboardish/particle board bookcase backs and it is indeed a very handsome book case. The shelves seem strong. the sides look ok but if you knock on them like you would knock on a door, they sound hollow. do I think it's worth the asking price? No! But the options are limited depending on your requirements as I looked for 2 1/2 weeks full time for a 5-6 shelf bookcase that would hold hard cover books and not exceed 30-32 inches wide. We shall see. I heard three times is the charm! lol!
