I honestly believe this item should be removed from Wayfair‘s inventory. It’s the worst piece of furniture that we have ever ordered from Wayfair and at this point we are at 13 orders within just the past two months. Instructions were incorrect in places. And here are a few ‘for instances’: step 3 says to insert a dowel (diagram), but there is no opening for a dowel, and there is nothing that it would connect to. Sometimes you couldn’t tell if they were showing the top of the unit or the bottom of the unit as it wouldn’t be labeled. On the doors, the holes didn’t line up in several areas and my husband had to create new holes. Also, the back panels are supposed to slide into slots. Three of them slid in fine. The fourth wouldn’t as it was a 16th of an inch too big all the way down. My husband had to take it out to the garage and sand down the edges so it would fit into the slot. Took 5 hours to put together due to all this, and we are not novices. As we worked, a blackish substance got all over our hands from the exterior of the wood. After we set it up I used a lightly dampened cloth to clean it off and it was COATED with a blackish residue. Even after it dried, it is coming off on our hands it we run them down the sides of the unit. We are going to either oil it or use a lacquer. As you can see from the attached picture, it comes gray, not brown as stated, but as we wiped, it began to appear more brown. Now that it’s dry, it is gray again, so we are hoping that it will go brown again after we treat it. We would have returned this piece but there way no way we were going to disassemble it. It is a pretty design.
