There's a mismatch between the quality of the seat and the base. The seat is made from comfortable foam, and the fabric and stitching looks and feels high quality. The base is metal. Assembly is difficult: some of the pieces have barely visible angles that require correct alignment. The pieces do not fit together well and the weld marks are visible, uneven and incompletely painted. The obvious screws also detract visually. The end effect is that the bottom of the stool looks and feels much cheaper than the top.

Very nice quality. Arrived quickly but the box looks as if it was opened and taped back shut which was a concern. Overall good product for the price. We are now putting these chairs together and are noticing some flaws. It seems I received the open box package option which I did not request. I will be talking to customer service!!
