First, the positives: The wood is gorgeous and a great concept. Wayfair tried to be extremely helpful throughout the process. However... the desk is advertised as full service delivery, which would be wonderful if the assembly team had all the right information to assemble the desk. Wayfair sent two separate teams to try to assemble this desk. The first team gave up when the only instructions were in Chinese and there were no pre-drilled holes in the wood top. The second one gave their best input, but again were scared with no pre-drilled holes and lack of a proper fit of the top to the base since they are liable for the install. Wayfair customer service did their best to find English assembly instructions, but even what they could find through Google, wasn't quite right. They said they reached out to the manufacturer but there were no good instructions. So, I put it together myself, and this is what I discovered: 1. The company provided generic installation instructions for the base (which didn't include the wooden support/decorative element). With a magnifying glass and Chat GPT, I was able to work my way through that. 2. The top they sent me did not fit the base they sent me. The side supports extended off the back of the desk if I assembled it properly. My choices were to take out the drawer, have metal protruding out the back of the desk, or to leave out a support piece. I chose to take out the drawer for now. Which was a selling point of this desk, so a disappointment. 3. The drawer was not centered on the desk, as pictured. 4. There is no/minimal cord management under the desk. 5. There were no pre-drilled holes or threaded receivers for attaching the top to the base - plus NO instructions for that part. The screws provided were way too small to provide adequate attachment - so there was another run to the local hardware store. 6. There is sticky residue on the wood top - I'm still working to get that off. 7. It came with some random pieces that don't seem to make sense with it, plus tons of spare parts... One extra piece they provided looks like a cheap plastic cup holder that doesn't match the quality I'd expect with this desk. The anticipation + disappointment/hassle when it arrived for waiting over a month for it to be delivered and the price paid for this makes this not worth the price or the wait. The assembly teams will refuse to assemble it due to the lack of clarity and the risk of no pre-drilled threaded holes. I would not recommend it unless you are prepared to pay a pretty penny, wait a long time, and have to figure out how to assemble it yourself and do without some of its features. I so wanted to love it, as it's unique and nothing else on the market is quite like it and I had already designed my home office around it. So, I'm making it work - but I would not buy it again knowing what I know now.
