Bureau double caisson Farmhouse

This worked out even better than I'd hoped. For one thing, it's a lot more solid than most flat-pack, self-assemble pieces. The desk and hutch top in particular are almost as hefty as real hardwood. And although it takes a bit of effort to put together, the machining and alignment of parts was really good (at least for my unit). It's not unusual for some of these to need a little extra help squeezing things together because a couple of the pre-drilled holes are ~1/32" off true in different directions, but not this time. One caveat: because it's nice and heavy and doesn't skimp on the fastener points, getting the hutch bolted onto the desk can be pretty tough if you're doing it solo. You'd need a hell of a strong back if you wanted to stand over the desk holding the ~40lb hutch arms wide while you gently line it up with the 8+ bolts sticking out from the desktop. I managed to make it work by putting everything together face-down on the floor and shimming the hutch up with a couple of foam mattresses, then standing it up once everything was bolted together. Fortunately, the sturdiness of construction meant I wasn't worried it would split under its own weight while I levered the whole thing upright. P.S. The included LED strip is a nice touch, especially if this is going in a tween's room.

Great fit for a small corner of my room. Neutral style that blends with a lot of home themes. Good storage! I needed something functional with smart storage options that didn’t take too much space.

Nice desk! The many parts will intimidate you but overall a great investment in the time it takes to put it together. Sturdy and just what I was looking for. Please have a hand with moving!

This 47” desk fit perfectly in my dining room transformed into an office/piano room!! I also used the Wayfair service to put it together. The guy that put it together did a fantastic job! He was on time and professional. I am so glad that I had someone else put it together. There were way more pieces than I expected!!
