This is a very nice, sturdy bookcase, perfect for my needs! We renovated our bathroom about a year or so ago and I needed a new shelving option to replace the folding wooden black storage shelf that was holding my (excessive) collection of hair products, and body lotions, etc. And this perfectly fit the bill! It’s really an improvement over what I was using before and it goes much better with the overall bathroom aesthetic. I will say it came with about a gazillion parts and pieces, and I’m only slightly exaggerating. It took me around two hours to put it together by myself, and I put items together every few weeks, so this took unusually long, even though the directions were quite clear; they were very precise and there were so many different parts and pieces that it did take a while to make sure that I was following the directions exactly. I’m glad I did though, because it is very sturdy, very stable, and it feels like it’s really well done. It is made of MDF with a rustic wood finish coating that has a texture to it, which may end up being harder to clean (dust), but I’m really so pleased with how it looks and functions that I think it’s worth it. It’s a really fantastic height. It’s just maybe an inch or so higher than the vanity countertops so I would say it’s probably a typical counter height. The drawer is a little catchy on the glides — in the directions, there were some holes that didn’t lineup perfectly on the drawers, so one side is probably off by maybe an eighth of an inch, but it’s not a dealbreaker. I can slide the bathroom scale easily under the bottom of the shelving. It has a center support and overall it holds a lot of weight. I like that it has the two storage shelves plus the drawer, plus the top is also storage, which was not the case in the shelving unit that I was using before. The color of the wood is a little bit darker than I wanted, but it’s still goes with the soft, sort of driftwood vibe that I was going for.
