After perusing various models of theater-style seating from multiple sites, I ultimately bought two sets of these 2-seat theater chairs from Wayfair, and I absolutely love them! They feel very high quality (genuine leather!) and are very comfortable, and the power recline and power headrest are very nice to have. The detachable tables are awesome, and we keep them attached at all times. I like the lighted cupholders and under-seat lights too, and the USB charging ports are handy.
Side note, it would have been nice if the peg which holds the tables could fold in or something, or if the armrest storage could somehow have accomodated the peg while it's attached, since it's annoying and not really worth it to unscrew the peg just to put the table away. The table is nice though, and because it somewhat blocks the cupholder when in place, it has its own cupholder which swings out from underbeath.
Another side note, the power supplies for each chair do kinda just sit behind the chair, so I'd suggest attaching them to the support rail via zip tie or Velcro. It would also be nice if the chairs could somehow daisy-chain the power supplies, but as it is you'll just need to anticipate having a separate 110V outlet for each chair. The length of the power supply + cord will not exceed two chairs, so if you have a row of 3 or more seats, you will want to consider putting an extension cord or power strip in between.
The chairs are really great, and a friend was visiting and now wants to buy one for himself!
The seats are shipped as two individual chairs - one with both armrests for the left-most chair, and one (or more for sets of 3+ seats) with only a right armrest, which sits to the right of that one. For whatever reason, the set does not *come* with anything to attach the chairs together - they do just sit side-by-side - BUT! If you contact Weilianda customer support, they will send you an attachment bracket, free of charge. Since I bought two sets, they are sending me two brackets. They also sent me an email with a video showing how to install the bracket - it seems very straightforward, and will lock the seats together. Their customer support was great!
Assembly of the chairs was very straightforward, too - just be careful while unboxing not to cut the leather! Once you unwrap the chair from the sheet foam (no styrofoam blocks, yay!), you pretty much just take the top half of the seat and set it onto the supports, wiggling it down until they click into place. Then connect the power supply to the lead, which has a little clip to secure the plug in place. The table is in the armrest, and you simply screw the peg onto it when you want to use the table. There's a cap on each of the support things on the armrests where the peg goes into, just remove and discard those. The table's peg goes into those supports, and there's a spring-loaded dust cap for when the table is not in use. Very well-designed!
Overall, I really have no complaints about these theater seats, and I would have no reason to get any other model/brand of theater seat than these! They have everything I'd need, and even being genuine leather, they are on the relatively budget-friendly end!. Kat. Greenfield, MA. Mon Sep 02 2024
