Once we were able to get the jug to seat properly with the base this waterer worked pretty well. It seemed that the jug lip was too wide to fit in the groove where sealing rings is. We have 20 chickens and 2 ducks. This waterer kept the ducks from making the water undrinkable for the rest.

I just started to using it this week - the temps are 20 degrees at night and so far, so good. The chickens and ducks are both drinking out of it. It stays much cleaner than a regular heated waterer. I will be ordering a second one.

I purchased this heated duct waterer for you son. Hoping to make caring for his ducks easier. We stopped using it after a few days. Went back to carrying buckets. The container has a poor cap design that is difficult to seal. The plastic button is has a very weak connection to the cap and broke on second attempt to position the container on the base. Without the plug connected to the cap the container must be completely empty to remove the plug. Definitely not worth the cost.

I bought this a few months back for my small flock of duck. It works great, no issues with leaking and filling the reservoir is easy. It is quit difficult to clean. Even with regular rinses and weekly soaks with vinegar/detergent. There is orange/and black mold growth inside the reservoir that will not come off. Think it’s already in the porous plastic. Real shame too because worked great, but we can’t seem to get it completely clean.

we bought this for my call ducks to keep their water from freezing through the winter and that aspect works great. it only froze during a snow storm when snow was feet high. but it’s hard to fill due to the domed shape and impossible to clean cause you can’t reach inside to scrub. it’s hard to twist close too. would be much better if it came with something to scrub the inside.
