My kitten absolutely loves this scratching post! She’s constantly climbing to the top and trying to grab the little pom-poms. It’s also tall enough for her to get a good stretch in. My 16-year-old cat, on the other hand, wants absolutely nothing to do with it. She prefers a shorter scratching post we already have, so this one might be better suited for younger, more playful cats. Assembly was pretty easy. There were only a few steps, the instructions were straightforward, and it came with all the tools needed. As far as quality goes, it’s okay. The base and other parts seem pretty durable, but I’m not sure how well the scratching material will hold up over time. It’s also a little wobbly when my kitten climbs it, which is surprising considering she only weighs about three pounds. I’m not sure how well it would hold up with a larger cat. Appearance-wise, it’s fine. The sisal has a slightly worn look to it, which I assume is intentional. It’s not necessarily something that blends in with my home decor as well as other cat furniture I’ve purchased. Overall, it’s a decent scratching post, just nothing particularly impressive in terms of quality or appearance. My kitten is certainly getting plenty of enjoyment out of it, though, and that’s why I’m giving it four stars.
