I like the whole thing. Litter genie makes my life easier

I bought my genie years ago and added a second one more recently. I love the concept of the litter gene and use it daily. It is not without issue, however. . . The lid on both my units came off repeatedly before the connection snapped. I am not sure why it isn't attached better since litter and the like is sure to get jammed in any crevice to eventually push the lid totally off. The area where you put the litter, that also locks the refill into place and has to be lifted by hand to refill, gets so disgusting and suffers deed gouges from the all the friction from dumping litter clumps in. It also jams and can be very difficult and painful to open in order to refill it as well. . .perhaps for that same litter in the groves and crevices issue. Refills are very expensive and are now quite difficult to find available. Why aren't there more available in retail to support all the purchases? Also, New versions' refills are not compatible with the original. I would love to see an updated version with cross compatibility. Last, but most definitely not least, the portion that gets pulled out to allow the litter to dump into the "sealed" body loosens up with time and eventually doesn't quite touch the other side of the unit or return to its proper position and smells sneak out.
