Not quite what I was expecting. May be on me for not checking the material more closely but essentially a high end microfiber towel. Nice enough though and does the job. May get something thicker and more mat like for regular use but I will use this too.

Its... fine. Very thin, like a napkin. I feel like a thicker rug would be better for my water slobberer dog.

I love this pet feeder mat, for the simple fact that it is washable. That makes such a huge difference , especially with a dog who likes to drip water everywhere and drop food everywhere. It comes in handy when you feed your dog. Wet food dry food is easy to clean up, but the wet food not so much

The backing has little grippy dots to hold it in place. The pattern is neutral. But it seems pretty cheaply made. I have this mat in a larger size, and after one wash the serged edges are already beginning to unravel.
