I really want to love this cage, but as-is, it's not a safe enclosure. We're rookie hamster owners, and our Syrian climbed up the back wall and clung to the roof and was able to chew a hole in one of the air vents large enough to escape, jumping to the ground below, where thankfully he was only cornered by our dog, and not eaten by him. I've fixed the problem by adding chicken wire, which should have been part of the design in the first place if this is truly an enclosure intended for hamsters, which I've since researched more fully and discovered do this Spider-Hammy thing pretty regularly.

arrived with pieces completely covered in shards of fiberglass. not in any way safe for chewing animals. the wood was also splintered right out of the box
