The holder is made of a very lightweight wood, which was a little disappointing. It was stained a nice, dark and rich color however. Unfortunately, the functional openings of the holder are smaller than discribed - closer to 3.5" X 3.5" (opposed to the listed 4" X 4"), making it unusable for my purposes.

Perfect to hold my kids' vast collection markers, pencils, and pens...ordered a second one for all the additional markers they got for Christmas. It's easy for them to carry around and looks great. Very well made. Pros: Beautifully made, attractive storage. Cons: None
