This is a nice gun shelf but it could use a couple upgrades. It looks nice on the wall and it is all wood. The door that swings open is heavier than the frame so the weight seems to cause a delay in unlocking it and opening it. The foam inside isnt dense enough to hold the 375 magnum I planned on storing in there. It falls right out of the foam cut out we made, which is obviously a problem. Im going to go find denser foam that can hold the weight of this heavy weapon. It will work well for lighter weight handguns. So if youre planning on putting a 9 mm or 380 in this cabinet, it should work fine. I like the idea of having additional weapons distributed around the house. The hidden shelf is certainly a good idea, but I definitely wouldnt have this if I had kids around. It is not a secure storage space and should not be used as a safety precaution for children.
