The inside / back is hallow and paperwork included with the order states this is not load bearing! Just decorative. No keyhole for hanging either; you need to use two-sided tape along the edges. The material is some sort of lightweight synthetic material and is actually bright white in person. The shape and size was perfect for my needs and this arrived quickly, but have to return as it does not suit my needs.
