Update 2026, nearly 5 years after purchasing and it’s sat in the same location all this time. I opened it up to change some seasonal items and noticed that the back is coming apart when I open the lid. I’ll need to install some support brackets. Once again, I highly recommend not buying anything made by this company.

Key issues
The finish on the top has unfinished spots.
It’s nice that this uses reclaimed wood, but the knot on the top is so rough that lightly wiping a paper towel on the top literally chews it up. You’d think for a chest that people are going to sit on or put their fabrics on top of, they wouldn’t get poked or snagged.
The piano hinge is misaligned, creating a sharp
edge that will easily rip up my curtains behind the chest.
The interior hinge lid holder thingy has grease on it which can get on your items stored inside the chest. These could be covered with something to prevent this.
In all, the chest meets our needs but has taken me time to fix the things that should have been built right the first time. This is very poor quality control.
I cannot recommend buying this chest unless you have the time, tools and ability to fix their screwups.
